Construction Begins on High-End Apartments in Tempe

high end apartments in Tempe The Tempe construction scene has a new entrant you’ll want to keep an eye on if residential construction is an interest of yours. In early October, the boutique real estate developer OliverMcMillan broke ground on one of the most recent upscale residential developments in Tempe.

As part of the Hayden Ferry Lakeside mixed-use project, the development was formerly known as Lofts@Hayden Ferry. Now the apartment complex is called SALT, a name reminiscent of the Salt River that flows past the city.

When complete, the building will stand at four stories and house 256 apartment units ranging from studios to three-bedroom residences.

SALT Offers Plenty to Do

For a little relaxation, residents can enjoy the two swimming pools with cabanas and the spa. The large social room provides a place to unwind and get to know the neighbors.

To help residents stay in shape, the complex includes a large gym outfitted with weights, resistance equipment, and cardio equipment. With the current popularity of yoga, the developers also chose to include a yoga lawn to provide residents with a safe, comfortable area to perform the practice.

For those who enjoy socializing in the fresh air over a good meal, there will be several outdoor barbeque areas. Some apartments look out onto Tempe Town Lake. These are just two ways in which the apartment complex was designed to combine the best of the outdoors and the indoors.

If all goes as scheduled, the apartment building will be complete sometime early next year and will be ready to welcome new residents in early 2016.

SALT isn’t the only residential project on the Tempe construction front. There’s also the development known as 4 TwentyOneWest, with a planned 24 townhouses, and the 38-residence Newport at Tempe.

This is just a small part of the larger building scene in the area, which includes an urban development project called USA Place, intended to rejuvenate a neglected part of Mill Avenue.
