Lennar Homes, one of the top general contractors in the U.S., reports significantly increased new residential construction starts in the first quarter of 2014 among its numerous regional offices throughout the United States.
The Miami-based construction and renovation firm states that some of the more notable construction increases occurred in communities such as San Bernardino, CA; Sparks, NV; and Cape Coral, FL. Other significant projects undertaken by the company have been ordered in Kissimmee, FA; Austin, TX; and Bakersfield, FL.
Lennar Homes’ new business represents millions of dollars of single-family and multi-family residential construction in thriving communities across the country. In total, Lennar built more than 18,000 new homes nationwide in 2013, according to a report by Eric Kalis on the real estate news website The Real Deal.
Nationwide, new residential construction increased for the 28th month as of December, 2013, according to the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). The increase includes both single-family and multi-family construction projects.
The NAHB predicts that multi-family housing starts will increase again by 25 percent in 2014, while single-family construction will climb at an even higher rate.
In the February 19, 2014, article by Kalis, Lennar Homes representatives indicated their belief that new construction in areas such as south Florida would stabilize, with the growth from previous years declining. Elsewhere in the country, however, construction growth appears poised to continue. Lennar Home expects to construct as many as 22,000 homes nationwide in 2014, Kalis stated.
